Pet Damage

Every creature in the game, including players, has its own set base damage. Player damage is fairly well documented, and changes depending on whether or not the player is using their fists or a weapon. However, creature damage is somewhat misunderstood by many out there.

A creature's base damage is not the same as a player's base damage for wrestling. Each creature has its own base damage. If a pet has skills that increase its melee damage, such as anatomy or tactics, those percentage based modifiers are applied to the pet's base damage. At this time, it is unknown for certain if a pet's strength also gives it a damage bonus, depending on how much strength it has.

It is certainly possible that a dragon who has suffered severe resurrection skill loss and has 0.0 tactics and anatomy to continue to do more damage than other types of pets, even though that particular pet may have gm tactics and anatomy. It is also possible for a 130 strength frenzied to do more damage than a 150 strength grizzly bear at the same tactics and anatomy levels. This is because they have different base damage levels.

It is also worth pointing out that the damage levels listed on the tameable chart are not base damages. They are based on the average birth stat and skill levels of that particular tameable.
