Alignment: Neutral
Diet: Meat
Nature: Angerable, No Orneriness
Abilities: Ridable
Habitat: Ridden by Chaos Dragoons (kill the rider, tame the dragon) in the Ilshenar city of Mistas, or wild in swamps

Lord Blackthorn, with the aid of Exodus, genetically created these magnificent beasts. They can only use their breath attack while mounted by chaos dragoons. Once separated from the dragoon, they loose all ability to breathe fire. They seem to have a bit above average armor, but their melee is rather poor. They take a bit of taming to acquire, but they can be transferred to anyone, regardless of skill. They appear to be the only tamable that is born with any anatomy skill.

Swamp dragons can be fitted with a special armor called "barding". It is crafted by a blacksmith with 72.5 skill, 750 ingots and comes in the form of a deed, which can be smelted. The barding, when used on the swamp dragon, gives it an armored look with the same hue as the color of ingots used (ie. valorite ingots give the swampie valorite barding). While mounted on an armored swamp dragon, its barding will absorb 9% of all of the damage you receive (magic/melee) from monsters (but not players). The barding can be removed by using a bladed weapon on the swampie, but the barding is destroyed in the process. The barding cannot be repaired. Using arms lore on an armored swamp dragon will tell you how much durability is left in the barding.
